We are a small cattery in Seminole, Our Moms live with us and sleep in our room, my sons room, my daughters room, they have the whole run of the house. They are just the most lovable animals I have ever experienced. It is far more important to us to find the right home for our kittens. It is NOT about the money. No kitten leaves our home before 12 weeks of age - when they leave they have already had three sets of shots. If we ship kittens, which I very rarely do, then they are not shipped until 14 weeks of age. Please don't ask us to change this policy. It is very important for Maine Coons to have a very comfortable, secure upbringing and we do everything possible to provide that. I prefer to meet all prospective parents at least twice during the time that you are waiting for your kitten to be old enough to come home. I do understand that there are some travelling issues that make it difficult. We should at least talk 4 to 5 times either via phone or e-mail. I also like pictures of my parents and their family and home before shipping a kitten. I will email you a questionaire and a copy of our contract. I email the contract so that you know up front our expections and what you can expect from us. We are also registered with the county. If you are looking at a kitten in Pinellas County and that cattery is not registered with the county, this means they do not have their twice a year inspections. The county inspects us twice a year, makes sure all our paperwork is in order, checks the living conditions of our animals and provides us with a full report that you can review. If you select a cattery in our county that does not provide you that information, look for another cattery. The |
